Our annual popcorn fundraiser is one of the best opportunities for Scouts to Earn Their Own Way. Participation is completely optional, but Scouts who participate can significantly reduce the cost of summer camp, high-adventure trips, camping fees, and other Scouting expenses through their Individual Scout Account (ISA).
For example, last year Owen used the money he earned through the Falmouth Triathlon, Mason dinners, and popcorn sales to pay for most of his Scouting adventures, including a significant portion of summer camp.
Many people aren't simply buying popcorn—they're supporting Scouting.
The proceeds from each sale benefit:
25% goes into the Scout's Individual Scout Account (ISA).
10% goes to Troop 38 to help pay for camping equipment, awards, advancement, and other troop expenses.
The remaining proceeds support the Cape Cod & Islands Council and the popcorn program.
The council purchases all of the popcorn and assumes the financial risk. Unsold popcorn is returned to the council, although we try to order only what we expect to sell.
In addition to earning money, Scouts:
Learn to interact with customers.
Practice handling money and credit card transactions.
Gain confidence speaking with people they don't know.
Learn perseverance and how to handle rejection.
May also qualify for council-sponsored prizes based on total sales.
Storefront sales are our most successful fundraising opportunity.
We typically set up outside:
North Falmouth Dunkin'/Post Office (listed as Get Fit in the Camp Masters portal)
Dean's Market
The community has been incredibly supportive over the years, and many customers return each year specifically looking for Scouts.
Historically, Scouts have earned about $30-$40 per hour toward their ISA through storefront sales.
Scouts ask family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to purchase popcorn.
Orders are entered into the Camp Masters portal, and Scouts deliver the popcorn once it arrives from council.
Scouts can share their personal sales link or QR code with friends and family anywhere in the country.
Orders are shipped directly to the customer.
Rather than tracking individual sales, all popcorn sales and donations from a storefront event are totaled together.
Each participating Scout receives a share based on the number of hours they worked compared to the total Scout hours worked during that sale.
Scouts receive ISA credit based on the popcorn they personally sell.
To participate in the fundraiser, Scouts must first register with Camp Masters.

Log into Camp Masters.
Select Storefronts from the left-hand menu.
Sign up for available one-hour shifts.
To give everyone an opportunity to participate, please limit yourself to two shifts per storefront sale until 6:00 PM the day before the event. If openings remain after that time, you're welcome to sign up for additional shifts.
If all of the shifts are full, please let me know. I may be able to extend the sale hours or schedule additional storefront events.
For storefront sales, a parent must remain with their Scout unless another registered troop leader (21 or older) is available to satisfy Scouting America's Safeguarding Youth requirements.
Just bring:
Your Scout uniform.
A smile!
A willingness to talk with customers.
I'll provide the popcorn, table, payment equipment, and everything else needed for the sale. You don't need to learn the Camp Masters payment system—I can handle that while we're all getting familiar with the new platform.
If you have trouble registering, signing up for storefront sales, or have any questions about the fundraiser, please let me know. I'm happy to help and can even register your Scout if needed.
Thank you for supporting Troop 38 and helping our Scouts Earn Their Own Way!
